Welcome to Artbox. In this episode Jason traveled up to Baltimore Maryland to Neil Feather’s Studio. Neil Feather is an artist, experimental musician, sculptor, instrument maker and sound mechanic. Neil likes to experiment, but without having to do the math. He’s like an Amish mad scientist. You’ll see what that means in the interview. Jason and Neil talk about how he started on this path and some of the instruments he makes. They also talk about the Red Room Collective and about his philosophy of art and music. The music you hear in the background durning the show, is Neil’s instruments. It’s another episode of ArtBox! Since it’s the new year and all, I thought why not take a close listen to Teresa Oaxaca, Erik Sandberg and Sheldon Scott what advice and tips they have to establish one’s self in the art world. And I give a tip myself! Happy year!
For this episode we sit down with Sheldon Scott, who’s a performance artist, and we discuss how he got his start and how todays news is woven into his practice. Finally, we ask him for tips and encouragement for those starting out. So go click and listen!
